Yurt in de Polder is a small-scale, entirely private place in the wide open polder landscape of North Holland. For facilitators, coaches, trainers, therapists and guides who work consciously and experientially with small groups.

The place is made for small groups, where personal attention, presence and connection are part of the process. That creates intimacy: everyone is part of the circle, no one disappears into the crowd.

The form can be different every time

Every facilitator works in their own way. Think of systemic work or a constellation, a day of breathwork, yoga or meditation, a women's circle or ceremony, body-oriented work, a personal-development programme, a training, or a retreat where different modalities come together.

What connects these forms is not the method. It is the attention with which the work is done.

When one day isn't enough

Stay, share a meal, move into the evening

Some days you don't want to end abruptly. After an intensive programme it can be good to eat together, move into the evening and leave room for whatever has come into motion during the day. And for those who wish, there's the option to stay overnight with a group.

That makes room for a small retreat, without having to rent a large retreat centre.

Frequently asked questions

Do we get the place entirely to ourselves?
Yes. You have exclusive use of the yurt, the greenhouse, the garden and the grounds, with no other groups or guests. That privacy is exactly what Yurt in de Polder is made for.
How many people is the yurt suitable for?
Up to 12 people seated for circles, workshops and trainings, and comfortably up to 8 for yoga, breathwork and body-oriented work lying on a mat or mattress.
What are the time slots?
A half-day is 4 hours. The morning slot runs from 08:00 to 12:00 and the afternoon slot from 13:00 to 17:00. A full day (two consecutive half-days) runs from 09:00 to 17:00, and the evening from 18:00 to 22:00.
What's included?
The yurt and the greenhouse, coffee and tea, free parking, private use of the garden and grounds, and an outdoor toilet with a cold outdoor shower. Deposit for the yurt: €50 (non-refundable).
Can our group stay overnight?
Yes. With three half-days including a group overnight stay, your group sleeps in the yurt. Outside of group bookings we also rent the yurt by the night as a B&B.
Where is it located?
In Grootschermer, in the middle of the open polder landscape of North Holland. You'll receive directions after booking. Yurt in de Polder was formerly known as Sisteryurt.
Can I work with plant medicine?
Plant medicine and other psychoactive substances are not used in the yurt or on the grounds. Ceremonial work without these substances is of course welcome.
